Why B & B Creations?

In a pet supply market that is flooded and growing every day, why choose B & B Creations products? First and foremost, we offer quality, made or grown in the USA items. If you’re like me, you cringe every time you hear about a recall of pet products made halfway across the globe. Knowing where and how the treats, toys and other items you offer are made and grown is crucial to building customer trust and loyalty. And, wouldn’t you prefer your business dollars go to build local economies?

B & B Creations provides all of that and more. The catnip used in our products is grown in Washington State and is certified organic. Toys are hand-made by talented home sewers right here in Colorado, many of whom are retirees or stay-at-home moms. Collars and leashes are also hand-made using materials manufactured in the USA. But the most compelling reason we can think of to purchase from B & B Creations is our philanthropic focus.

Net profits from the sale of B & B Creations products benefit pet charity, primarily Harley’s Hope Foundation, a Colorado based, safety net animal welfare charity. Harley’s Hope staff actually came up with the Colorado Kitty Pot concept in 2014 and ran it as a social enterprise for the first three years. Once the charity’s board of directors determined it would be best to separate business expenses from the charity’s operations, B & B Creations took over. Our promise from day one was that we would continue to carry only quality pet products, and to give back to HHF and other similar charities focused on keeping pets and service animals in their homes.

In addition to donating, B & B Creations has recently developed a program to benefit any nonprofit animal charity in need of help with fundraising. The charities will be able to purchase our products at more than 40% below wholesale price, personalize the package labeling, and resell as a fundraiser in support of their own missions. We’ve already launched this effort with several charities in Colorado and the feedback has been encouraging. This program also allows B & B Creations to spread our support for pet charity far and wide.

Why is supporting philanthropy good for your business? Three words – the Halo Effect. If a customer walks into your store looking for catnip, they most likely will have many options to choose from. All things being equal, if a pet lover can buy a brand that benefits a for-profit company or a brand that will donate back to save pet lives, which do you think they’ll choose? And, what will it say about you as an animal lover and business person that you carry these products that give back to animals in need?
